Alright, I can take a hint! I have been missing in action from the blogging world for months now, and it hasn't been for the lack of things to post about, but rather to have the time to do so. I am currently looking into purchasing a computer so I can download and post pictures, as well as keep in contact with people better through e-mail.
One wonderful thing that happened at the beginning of the summer was that my sister Kaye and her husband Shane moved back to Minnesota. Alas, Shane had to go back to Arkansas to finish school, but in the interim, Kaye and I spent alot of quality time checking out Park Rapids. Some of my favorite shops are the Minnesoda Fountain (which is an old-time soda fountain), Aunt Belle's Confectionary, and the Olde Liberty Shoppe. If you ever have the chance to make it to Park Rapids, you'll have to check it out!
This past weekend was the Lake Itasca Family Bluegrass festival. I went for Friday and Saturday, and it was alot of fun to see old friends and lots of family there. My Uncle Norm and Aunt Annie and my cousin Mitchell had their food stand, The Alaska Grille there as well, and I know alot of our family kept them busy by trying many items on their delicious menu! And Shane made it home from Arkansas on Saturday morning, so he and Kaye came out too, and it was so good to see them both!
The biggest highlight of the festival for me was by far the Franz Family!!! I first heard them when they played and sang at Ben and Mindy's wedding almost two years ago, and let me tell you, they were awesome then and they are awesome now! They are amazing on their instruments, and they all have beautiful voices too! I wouldn't be surprised to see them really make it big in the bluegrass world! And they have such hearts to reach people for Christ too! One song that they played really made me smile!! It is called Holding Out For a Hero, and it is an old 80's song that, when applied to a single girl waiting for God's best in a mate, is really great!

Holding Out for a Hero
Where have all the good men gone and where are all the gods? Where's the street-wise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night toss and turn and dream of what I need.
I need a hero...I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night. He's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fight. I need a hero...I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light. He's gotta be sure and it's gotta be soon and he's gotta be larger than life.
Somewhere after midnight in my wildest fantasy, Somewhere just beyond my reach, there's someone reaching back for me. Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat, It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet.
[Chorus]
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above, Out where the lightning splits the sea, I would swear that there's someone somewhere watching me. Through the wind and the chill and the rain, And the storm and the flood, I can feel his approach, Like the fire in my blood.
I just love this song! I don't want to settle for anything less than God's best for me! So all in all, it was a very enjoyable weekend! If you weren't able to make it out this year, you'll have to come out next year!
So, summer is drawing to a quick close! I am excitedly waiting for my trip to Colorado in a couple of weeks to see my sister Krista and her husband Delchi. I will be there a few days before her due date, and I am not-so-secretly hoping that she will have little baby Fafach while I am there! So stay tuned for pictures!
Enjoy the rest of your summer! I really like the way your blogs are keeping me up to date on everything that is going on in your lives!

Welcome back to the blogging world! Sounds like you've had a fun summer. I love the lyrics to that song you posted! Godly guys truly are rare in today's world, but God is BIGGER than we can comprehend and I pray that He handpicks a husband for you and very soon!

Hey Karen!! It sounds like you had a blast at the bluegrass festival! I finally put some of my Costa Rica pictures on my blog :D My phone broke, so I don't have your cell phone number, but I'd love to get together before I leave for Indiana. Have a great day!
