This morning we headed into the mountains to go to Lake Brainerd, which is about an hour from where Delchi and Krista live. When we got to the entrance to the park, we saw that there was an eight dollar fee to enter. So Delchi asked if there was a free way to get into the park, and the park volunteer pointed us toward a very rugged road! Delchi was so excited! (I'm sure off road driving is every guys dream!) It felt like we were in a car commercial! You know the ones where the car is driving through impossibly rocky terrain? Yep, that what it was like!!! Well, we found out today that it IS possible , and thanks to their four-wheel drive Pathfinder, we made it to the top! And our adventure had just begun.
There was a beautiful reservoir there with alot of rugged tundra grass and trees. We saw a few campers up there too, their tents nestled into little spaces between the trees!
We hiked along the shore of the reservoir. There was so much untouched beauty up there! It was so peaceful!

We also went to Delchi and Krista's church picnic. It was a luau theme, so there was roast pork, a limbo contest, and a hula hoop contest! These people know how to party! After our busy day, we took a nice night time walk around a lake near their house, and then called it a day!

Aren't sister's just the greatest? It just baffles me how we can get ever closer as we get older. It's like having a permamnent best friend. I love it!
