On Saturday night, I went to the Wycliffe Bible Translators banquet, and was seated next to a missionary named Nelson. Nelson and his wife are first time missionaries...who are in their early sixties! It was wonderful to hear how God put missions in their hearts. He shared that when God called him, he felt like saying, "God, I thought you were finished with me!" and heard in response, "Well, are you finished with Me?" What a challenge to all of us! God has a plan for the nations, and no matter what our ages may be, He can use us to accomplish His purposes!
One thing that Nelson told me really struck me, and it is something that I hope to always remember. He told me that being in the center of God's will is like being in the center of His hand. As we abide in that place, He can shelter and protect us with His other hand, gently guide us through His plans for our lives, and also give us a "spanking" when we need correction! =)
There is no better place to be!
