The Nativity Story

My cousin Melanie and I went out to lunch together on Sunday after church, and then saw the matinee of The Nativity Story. What a powerful movie! It was a blessing to see the story I have heard so often, and to see the depiction of what it was like for Mary and Joseph, and all those involved. What I was most encouraged about was that Mary was really just an ordinary girl who loved and wanted to obey the Lord. Can you imagine what would have happened if she had told God no? But Mary and Joseph were willing to sacrifice their lives and reputations to do what God had planned for their lives. And through their obedience, God brought to us His wonderful provision for our salvation.....Jesus Christ! So I have been encouraged once again to do the same; to live my life willing to follow and obey God and His plans for me!
