Pure Hearts

I was greatly encouraged by this morning's sermon on the beatitude, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." It sometimes seems hopeless, to think that I can be pure in heart! The desire is there, to be sure, but my human nature is so prone to sin. It makes me thankful yet again for the salvation from sin that I have received from Jesus Christ and also for the transforming power of God's Word! Both are life-changing and life-giving, and have the ability to make me what I cannot be on my own, pure in heart! Praise and thanks to the Lord that He has given us all we need for life and godliness! So, my prayer is, "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer."
