100 Things About Me

Some of my friends did this, and I had alot of fun reading theirs, so I thought I'd give it a whirl! Enjoy...
1. The most important thing in my life is my relationship with Jesus, and to live my life to honor and please Him!
2. I love my family, immediate and extended!
3. My sister Kaye's birthday (June 18th) and mine (Sept 24th) always fall on the same day of the week.
4. I have two sisters and a brother.
5. One of my favorite things to do as a girl was play restaurant or store.
6. I wanted to be a ballerina when I grew up.
7. But I come from a somewhat klutzy family, so it's probably good that I didn't become one!
8. I don't play any musical instruments, but I love to sing.
9. And I always annoyed my brother on family road trips because of my incessant singing.
10. It is extremely difficult for me to stop singing in the middle of a song, even if I am told to. (I usually quietly hummed until I finished it!)
11. I have always wanted to act in a play.
12. I recently took a Waltz and Cha Cha dance class, and am hooked on dancing now.
13. As a girl, I loved twirly dresses and skirts.
14. Even though I am grown-up, if I am trying on a skirt or dress, I check to see if it twirls. (And it increases the chances that I’ll buy it too!)
15. My first job was cleaning cabins, and I was paid $1 an hour! (That has to be illegal!!)
16. I have a scar on my knee from a cut I got while running in the church after the service.
17. I have never broken a bone, but have had stitches on my head.
18. My favorite subjects were handwriting, spelling, and grammar.
19. When I was in 4th grade, I won 1st place in my age group at the State Christian School Spelling Bee.
20. The winning word that I spelled was "balm". The other kid spelled it "bomb".
21. When I was 13 or 14, I wrote a story, complete with illustrations. It has since been destroyed. ;)
22. I have also written some poetry.
23. My cousins, my sister Krista, and I have written three songs together, and they have been recorded by said cousins, The Berge Family.
24. I have had one speeding ticket, and two warnings.
25. I had my last warning a few weeks ago, and one of my best friends drove past as I was pulled over!
26. Cruise control is my new best friend!
27. My friends and I once washed a car in -30 degree weather. Bad idea!
28. The first time I did a Chinese fire drill, my mom drove by.
29. I was the shortest of all of my friends, and didn't have my growth spurt until I was sixteen.
30. I almost got detention twice in grade school…
31. One was for protesting a kid budging in line when there was a room monitor, and we were supposed to be silent while the teacher was gone doing an errand.
32. The other was for having my pinky toe in the aisle of the bus while I was looking in my backpack. (The bus driver said no feet in the aisle.)
33. In 3rd grade, I had a soccer ball kicked into my stomach during gym by the boy I had a crush on.
34. I can speak a little Spanish thanks to watching Sesame Street as a kid.
35. We Schmidt cousins used to eat red clover and call it Super Power. (And we turned out fairly normal!)
36. I cried when my mom told me I was getting braces, because a friend told me they drilled them into your gums.
37. I tend to internalize things that upset me.
38. I am very competitive.
39. I learned to downhill ski when I was 9 years old.
40. My sister and I dressed my brother as a girl when we were little, and got in BIG trouble!
41. I once flushed yucky potluck food down the toilet.
42. Almost every vacation my family went on was a camping trip. I loved it!
43. I want to do a portaging-type camping trip; a not-for-the-faint-hearted, hardcore camping trip.
44. I have never been kissed.
45. I love to cook!
46. My grandmother gave me, my sister, and cousins cooking lessons when we were thirteen.
47. I am known for my love of eating and baking cheesecakes.
48. My brother can make me laugh harder than almost anyone...Carmita is up there though!
49. My most recurring bad dreams are tornado dreams.
50. I pierced my own ears.
51. I have been on two missions trips, both overseas.
52. I love to travel, and have been to (counting airports) eight different countries.
53. I also love foreign food, and am up for trying almost anything once.
54. The biggest things I look for in a friend are trustworthiness and honesty.
55. I have naturally curly hair, but I almost always straighten it.
56. So I tend to dislike humid days because my hair gets frizzy.
57. My cousin and I were born two weeks apart and lived a mile away from each other for our entire childhood.
58. I am not a big animal/pet person....even fish stretch it a bit for me!
59. My dad called me the "human metal detector" because I always seemed to step on sharp objects.
60. I am very non-confrontational.
61. I don't like talking about controversial topics unless it is absolutely necessary!
62. As a child, I used to hide vegetables under the table when I didn't want to eat them.
63. The song "Dancing Queen" brings back some pretty good memories!
64. I like to get from point A to point B fairly quickly.
65. And that gave me the nickname "Speedy Feet".
66. My other nickname is Kare Bear.
67. I have sworn off dying or highlighting my hair ever since an “oops” left me with bleached blonde roots!
68. I work at a bank, and both of my parents are in numbers-related jobs as well.
69. I recently discovered the BEST ice cream flavor (Bridgeman's Coconut Joy) and it is my new favorite!
70. I stood under a waterfall for the first time not too long ago. Awesome!
71. I love to get to know new people and host events. I should do this more often!
72. My sisters are my best friends.
73. My favorite smells are baking bread and clean clothes.
74. My name (Karen) means Pure.
75. I like to be early or on time for things.
76. The self-defense move of choice we siblings used on each other when I was growing up was "The Thump". (A fist thump to the back knocked the wind out of you very effectively and gave you a chance to escape!)
77. Some friends and I played miniature golf in prom and/or bridesmaid dresses.
78. I have a really good memory, and can remember the most bizarre details.
79. My friends tease me about this relentlessly.
80. Some of my best thoughts come right before I fall asleep.
81. I have lived in the same state my entire life.
82. I used to want to be a teacher...not anymore. But I do like kids.
83. All of the roommates that I have had have been great!
84. I am afraid of spiders.
85. I have learned the wisdom of being discreet, and confide in just a few people.
86. I love pretty much any kind of music...with a few exceptions.
87. I have road-tripped to different concerts with my sister...good times!
88. My favorite seasons are spring and fall.
89. I like to have trips and similar things planned out well, but I like to do spontaneous things too.
90. I don't like to waste food or other things, and make sure that I don't buy more than I can use.
91. I scream VERY loudly if someone sneaks up behind me when I'm not expecting it!
92. I love to laugh and make others laugh too. A good sense of humor is high on my list!
93. I blush easily if I am nervous or embarrassed.
94. I tend to overanalyze things.
95. I have a very enthusiastic personality, and get excited about life in general!
96. I am very passionate about things that are important to me!
97. I enjoy culture….food, theater, music; things that cities have to offer.
98. I want to keep learning new things about God and about life.
99. I enjoy a challenge.
