What a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We had a picnic, and then went to see the fireworks, which were coordinated with patriotic music, so that was very fun! And nothing beats running into people that you haven't seen in a long time...ah, the joys of a small town! And my roommate Crystal bought sparklers, so when we got home, of course we had to try them out! And nothing brings out the inner child in me more than playing with fire! ;)

After working on Saturday, Crystal and I spent the afternoon at the beach. The water was SO cold, but it was refreshing on such a hot day.
On Sunday, we went to the parade. It was fun to share the afternoon with a bunch of friends from church. And we did get a few pieces of candy, thanks to Beth's friend Jake. He waved at all of the girls, and they threw him a ton of candy!

And thanks to some very generous children, Crystal and I were given Dairy Queen coupons for $1.50 off of a blizzard. So we waited patiently in line to get our DQ's, and then walked down to the waterfront and stuck our feet in the lake. Ahh, the wonders of summer!
